Collaborative Partners and Connections
I have known Steve Thompson, the Marketing/Merchandising Manager for Pharmasave Drugs Pacific, for more than eight years. Over that time, he and I have crossed paths in several capacities.
Recently, I told him about how the B.C. government is providing grant money to businesses for training. One of the types of training they are funding is my LIFFT Training program. Steve was well aware of the work I did with the Pharmasave management team in Hope, B.C. to enhance their marketing efforts.
As a result of our conversation, Steve asked me to send him a flier with the details of the grant and the training program. He offered to send it to all the stores in B.C. The day after the information hit Pharmasave’s intranet, I received a call from a front store manager who picked a date for the training and submitted the grant application.
Not only is Steve Thompson a wonderful person and good at what he does, he is also an ideal person for me to collaborate with. He recognized the benefits of the program and wants to make it accessible to the stores he works with. Based on my experience in marketing retail stores and my background in the pharmacy industry many years ago, this arrangement proved to be a perfect fit.
Collaboration can be a highly effective way to help others and generate more business in the process. Think about the people you know. Who could you collaborate with to generate a win-win outcome for both parties?
