Company Makeover

I would like to thank those who emailed me after I sent out my new and improved “One Minute Marketing Tip” on August 24, 2010.

As you know, I always emphasize the importance of tracking the results and returns on investment as a result of your marketing initiatives. I believe it is important to practice what I preach. I have moved away from a very basic email system to one that provides detailed tracking reports. This system, Campaign Monitor (www.campaignmonitor.com), cost more than the other system I used but has more comprehensive reporting than other email solutions.

When I switched over, I required an HTML email template in order for Campaign Monitor to properly track the results of each mail-out. For this, I hired Twin Fish Creative (www.twinfishcreative.com), the company I use for all my branding to produce an attractive and cleaning looking template.

It is important to have consistency in your brand and that comes from working with the same design group time and time again. Once the template was designed, I hired my web development company to set up the system and make the template “live”.

Now that everything is up and running, we can prepare each newsletter and send it out ourselves.

Although this may sound like a complicated process, it wasn’t. Everything was done over the course of eight business days, including the transfers of my email contacts from my old system to my new one.

What motivated me to make the change? The company I was using to send out my emails was no longer able to host the website for my ebooks. This was the impetus for me to do what I have been intending to do during the past twelve months.
