Cupcakery – Part 2

In the last tip, I wrote about Cassia Cupcakery and how they copied the very successful idea of Vancouver-based Cupcakes.

Cupcakes’ successful growth will do them well. The question is: Can they be responsive to the demands of the marketplace as they continue to grow their franchise operation?

A few weeks ago, I was conducting research online reqarding Cassia Cupcakery. At that time, I could not find their website so I’m assuming they don’t have one yet. What I did discover was a number of postings on a blogging site called Yelp where people rate and comment on businesses they like and dislike. There were several comments about Cassia Cupcakery. One woman noted that since Cassia Cupcakery is located on Commercial Drive – the land of many who enjoy a vegan diet – she was very interested in the bakery offering a vegan cupcake.

Right away, I wondered to myself: Will the owner of Cassia Cupcakery find out about this request? If they do, how responsive will be they to it?

To my delight, as I walked by Cassia Cupcakery this past Monday, I noticed a bold message on their sandwich board: “Now, try our new Vegan Cupcakes.”

Well done, Cassia Cupcakery. Everyone is happy when business owners take the fans at a specific location or region seriously. The fans get their vegan cupcakes and the staff and their associates get happy customers, which leads to positive word-of-mouth. And best of all, there will be more money in Cassia Cupcakery’s piggy bank.
