Hi, this is Jen DeTracey, the Founder of LIFT Strategies, One of Canada’s Top Marketing Strategists and the author of the book, Lift Strategies – Quick Tips to Engage Customers and Elevate Profits.
This week I want to refer back to last week’s tip, where I was talking about being part of an event called, #StartupChats. This was through Twitter. One of the questions that I want to bring up for this week that was asked is – What are examples of digital marketing?
I’m going to give you three examples today.
The first example is writing a blog. When you write a blog, then the awesome thing about it, especially if you include tags in that blog, is that Google rankings for your website will spike up. Especially if your website is associated with your blog.
It also gives you content that you can then send out through various channels, e-mail, and social media channels, to get out to the world. That’s just a short synopsis.
The second one is if you create a YouTube video. I’m doing a quick tip right now. It’s uploaded on YouTube first, and then cut and past the embed code on a blog page on my website. In fact this is the page you are on right now.
For others, they may watch this video on YouTube. Through my e-mail list, I am sending that out to people as a link to my website, however, people watching on YouTube can either go to my YouTube channel, or they can do a Google search and find my video there. That would be another example of digital marketing.
The third example of digital marketing today is LinkedIn. Now, there’s several different avenues for posting on LinkedIn. One is the feed. When you click on your homepage on LinkedIn, if you have a LinkedIn profile, you’ll see that there is a feed and that is a daily feed that people post stuff. That’s usually short ideas or concepts that lead people to blog posts or various different areas.
