Give More, Make More

Last week I was scheduled to attend an evening board meeting. My plan was to drive my car to pilates class (which was only three blocks away), then go right to my meeting. By taking the car, I would be saving enough time to do both activities without compromising either one.

On my way to class, I realized I had a flat tire. I immediately headed back home and called BCAA (BC Automobile Association). The mechanic arrived within 30 minutes of my call, and, in seconds, found a small screw had punctured my tire. He informed me of a new service BCAA has been providing since November of 2006: BCAA offers members the option of having their tires plugged for only $15.00 each.

This solution of inserting a special rubber plug to seal punctured tires has been proven successful by the American Automobile Association. I was grateful that BCAA had added this service to their roster because, within five minutes, my tire was repaired. I was on time for the board meeting. The tire plugging service was a win-win for me and BCAA. It saved me from having to drive on a spare and needing to visit to the garage for repair and balancing. BCAA saved themselves the time required to switch over to a spare tire, and they made more money in the process.
